Flavored with Rose Water and topped with a buttercream rose, these Beauty and the Beast Cupcakes will have your taste buds singing in no time! (Probably A Tale As Old As Time!)

Beauty and the Beast Cupcakes

The day is finally here! The new live action Beauty and the Beast is released today and I CANNOT wait to go see it! I don’t actually go to the movies often (I’d rather watch with Z and my popcorn tastes better) but for certain movies I make the exception. And Beauty and the Beast is one of those movies. There is no way I can wait any longer to watch!

I’ve been planning these cupcakes for a long time now. Ever since I started the blog really. I just knew I needed to make a Beauty and the Beast themed cupcake for the release.

While there are plenty of Beauty and the Beast Cupcakes and Belle cupcakes out there, all of them were simply looks. None (that I could find) had a specific flavor based on the movie. And what better flavor than Roses!

Beauty and the Beast Cupcakes

I had never used Rose Water before in cooking, but I will definitely be continuing to use it! Not only do these cupcakes smell like roses, but the flavor of the Rose Water is so delicious! While too much can definitely be overwhelming, adding a small amount creates a light, fragrant cupcake that melts in your mouth!

In keeping with the lightness of the flavor, I used cake flour instead of all purpose flour. And I sifted it, that step is very important. You can find cake flour in the baking aisle by the all purpose flour. It’s a little more expensive but certainly worth it.

Beauty and the Beast Cupcakes

I topped the Beauty and the Beast Cupcakes with a Rose Water Lemon Buttercream frosting. The lemon flavor is not strong at all, it’s just enough to give it a hint of citrus. And to adorn these scrumptious cupcakes, a buttercream Rose. Aren’t they lovely?

Who else has been anxiously awaiting Beauty and the Beast like I have?
